Sometime Thursday afternoon, Marie Keifer had a sudden and massive stroke. She died last night.

Words can’t adequately describe the shock and grief we feel, nor the deep concern and sympathy for Henry, Zach, Jon, and the extended family.

This blog is being created to help us all, to recount and capture our memories of Marie, to express our condolences to the family, to offer our assistance in the coming days and weeks, and to provide an efficient channel for the family to relay news and needs to this community.

Please actively participate by posting your thoughts, offering your services, and following the news.

What a lousy thing, I am shocked and just speechless, really.

Marie, a fine woman, was always kind and patient with me, even as the unkempt and strange younger brother of her husband.

Once the crazy ride of the next days is over, I know she will be sorely missed, but of course never forgotten.

Best wishes to Henry, Zach and Mr. J.

I was very saddened to hear of this tragedy.

I worked with Marie at FairPoint Communications for a short time. I learned quickly though what a hard-worker Marie was as well as a wonderful mother and wife. Marie was very devoted to her boys and we often spoke of their activities and how well they were doing.

The saying is ‘the good die young’ and in this case it is so true. We will miss you Marie but I know you are in heaven looking down on us all.

This is a real shock. Marie worked with and for me during her career with Digital. I always had a very high regard for her competences. She was a real contributer and team player. In all, a real professional.

My sincerest condoleances to her family.
